The PLANET GSD-1002M is a layer 2 managed switch with 8 Gigabit ports, including one PoE+ port for the connection to a PSE device.
Thus, there is no need to connect the switch to a power outlet, which can facilitate the installation.
The PoE # 8 port can also be used to connect an external power supply, and operate as a redundant power supply. In case of a failure, the switch can still operate, over PoE link.
Moreover, the PLANET GSD-10002M switch is equipped with 2 SFP slots, compatible with 100FX or Gigabit fiber optics modules.
